A little bit about me…
Welcome to Bites and Insights! It’s hard to believe I have finally built up the courage to dive into blogging. About 6 years ago, my mother commented about how often I visited cafes and restaurants. She suggested that I start a blog or somehow become food critic.
Fast forward a year, and I found myself as an “undecided” major exploring nutrition and food science courses. These classes were incredibly interesting and came quite easily to me. I declared food science as my major by the middle of my freshman year. I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in food science, culminating an honors thesis on sauerkraut fermentation.
Towards the end of my undergraduate studies, I decided to pursue a master's degree. My research focused on kombucha, a trendy beverage that's garnered a lot of attention in the past few years. I'm proud to have contributed to the ongoing research in fermentation and sensory science (Find my paper here).
Now, here I am, a few months after completing my master's degree, eager to share my food experiences with you. Whether it's exploring new foods, trying out different restaurants, or experimenting in the kitchen, I'm here to document it all. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about my food adventures and experiences!
